Golden Key Music Festival: Ludwig van Beethoven
21.07.2012, 18:00
Join Alan Wasserman, noted speaker and pianist, for some beautiful music and a general overview of Beethoven's life and his language of Music. We will explore the affect of Beethoven's deafness upon his life and on the history of music - along with new evidence as to the cause of the affliction that drove Beethoven to write the letter of desperation known as the Heiligenstadt Testament.
We will hear the "Appassionata" Sonata, the Op. 57, separated into movements with discussion of Beethoven's life, his personality and his music disbursed in between.
Music would never be the same again, as the 'Moody Maestro' pulled the world out of the classical time period, infused his feelings into his music, and brings us into the Romantic Period of music and art.
