Live on Stage: Basia Bulat
11.08.2010, 20:00
11.08.2010 8 p.m.
The music scene in Canada is blooming! Basia Bulat proves this with carefree and melodic songs on 11 August 2010 at 8 p.m. as part of the Live on Stage concert series in cooperation with the Vienna Songwriting Association.
Basia Bulat is from Toronto but resides in London, Ontario. Even as a child Basia Bulat knew that she wanted to be a musician, her only problem was to choose a genre. After performing in some rock bands as a teenager and studying jazz bass at the age of 21, she recognized that her heart belonged to songwriting and the acoustic guitar.
As a lover of jazz, folk and acoustic music she has been influenced by Joni Mitchell, Craly Simon, Ella Fitzgerald and the Spanish singers / songwriters Manuel Serrat and Silvio Rodriguez. She describes her music as "Chamber Pop" in addition to drums and the ukulele; violin, cello and piano are also part of her equipment..
