NAMADEUS
Mozart's Musical Game
Haus der Musik offers a new interactive installation. "NAMADEUS," the interactive computer programme based on Mozart's musical game KV 516f offers visitors the opportunity to playfully turn their names into original Mozart interpretations.
Created for his piano student Franziska von Jacquin in 1787, the musical game KV 516f presents Mozart's setting to music of the alphabet. The system can be applied to any given combination of letters and allows for great melodic variety.
The new installation is located inside Mozart room on Haus der Musik's third floor and can be tested from 10am to 10pm daily.
"NAMADEUS" allows you to create your personal musical score in Mozart's original handwriting and take it home as a musical souvenir.
Together with the Virtual Conductor, WaltzDice and the many other interactive musical installations, "NAMADEUS" offers the opportunity to discover music in playful and innovative new ways.
NAMADEUS is the result of a joint project between the Department of Musical Science (Subdivision: Systemic Music Science) and Haus der Musik, Wien.
