At the Museum of the Vienna Philharmonic at Haus der Musik, you can enjoy a Best-Of version of the ORF production in HD. Prepare for 30 minutes of eye and ear candy with Mariss Jansons, who conducted the Philharmonic's New Year's Concert on January 1, 2012.
For the second time since 2006, Mariss Jansons stands on the podium of the Vienna Philharmonic as conductor of the world's biggest event in classical music. "Ever since the first joint concert in April 1992, Mariss Jansons forms part of the circle of conductors the Vienna Philharmonic feel particularly attached to. In inviting him to conduct the New Year's Concert 2012 we honour these 20 years of collaboration marked by mutual artistic respect and understanding," stated Clemens Hellsberg, chairman of the Philharmonic orchestra.
The Museum of the Vienna Philharmonic
The museum is located in the former apartment of the composer, conductor and founder of the Vienna Philharmonic, Otto Nicolai (1810-1849) who established the orchestra with the unique sound in 1842. Today, visitors come here to discover the history of the renowned Vienna Philharmonic and experience the highlights of the most recent New Year's Concert in astounding audio quality.
In our specifically equipped concert hall on the museum's first floor, you can experience the highlights of the Viennese New Year's Concert. Highest audio-visual quality and a festive ambiance allow you to dive in and experience this exceptional cultural event as if you had been there in person.
The Best-Of version of the New Year's Concert 2012 will be screened every full hour, from 10am to 9pm daily.
