Since the Sound Museum opened nine years ago in June 2000, it has welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors and hosted hundreds of concerts, live performances and conversations with artists. During all this time; music lovers of all ages have been able to spend thousands of hours on an interactive journey of musical discovery.
HAUS DER MUSIK is popular not only as a museum documenting the Viennese musical tradition, but also as a unique learning institution. It invites visitors to take a journey through the world of sounds and listening and to discover music and tunes at an interactive location in the heart of Vienna, one of the musical capitals of the world.
HAUS DER MUSIK traditionally attracts large numbers of visitors in the summer months: tourists interested in art and culture and also parents who visit the museum with their children. Incidentally, the guided tours for children will also take place during the school holidays.

Eisenstadt and the Burgenland are not the only places to celebrate the great composer Joseph Haydn. Vienna and HAUS DER MUSIK are also making a contribution with an alternating exhibition of eye-catching rarities in the Haydn Room, the interesting "Eine Haydn-Arbeit" installation in the inner courtyard and four summer concerts in June. |

HAUS DER MUSIK invites visitors to take a virtual tour of the different floors of the historical building. The new simplified animation brings the Sound Museum to the internet community and offers a foretaste of the real thing - or revives memories of an earlier visit. |

Vienna and the surrounding area remain musical hotspots even in the summer. The Film Festival in front of the Vienna City Hall is a model for open-air cinema and attracts as many as 600 people every evening: with the best opera films and productions featuring the stars of yesterday and today - from Leonie Rysanek and Anna Netrebko to José Carreras and Boris Godunov. |
