NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2008
A sound.carpet creates a buzz
Hermann Nitsch presented his „sound.carpet" in person to media representatives and prominent guests at HAUS DER MUSIK on 9 October 2008. The reactions provoked by a screening of his "Burgtheater Performance" by way of a video premiere at HAUS DER MUSIK were just as enthusiastic as those that greeted the Nitsch installation. The Sound Museum has acquired a new, visual dimension.
We are also pleased to announce another premiere: young visitors to HAUS DER MUSIK can now enjoy special children's audio guides - entertaining and optimally designed from a pedagogical point of view - to help children gain even greater pleasure from music.
Our November agenda is as packed as ever and includes Marko Simsa's and Bernhard Fibich's popular concerts for children and a Live on Stage concert by Robert Rotifer. This year, HAUS DER MUSIK will be taking part at the book fair held at the Vienna Exhibition Centre that also features readings and performances scattered throughout the city - a festival of reading for all.
The international a-cappella competition Voice Mania will be launched at HAUS DER MUSIK for the second time. And finally, we would like to draw your attention to an interesting panel discussion organised in collaboration with our partner of many years' standing, Der Standard, as a pre-opening event to the Blue Bird Festival.

The idea was thought up by Marko Simsa, who also played an important part in its realisation. In addition to the existing audio guide there's now a special one for children which is entertaining, dramatic and a model of music pedagogy. |
