Haus der Musik

NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 2011

Spinning around the sound...

After an exciting August, featuring the popular Liszt summer concert series and a superb Live-on-Stage performance by The Miserable Rich, Haus der Musik commences an equally promising September.

Young and old can look forward to a colourful programme at the Sound Museum.
On September 3, Haus der Musik starts off the month with an intimate new photo exhibit in its freely accessible exhibition space inside the museum's inner courtyard. On display are the works, submitted to our photography contest, on the subject "Catch the Sound." Participants spared no efforts, and let their creativity run wild.

This month's musical highlight is not one, but two Live-on-Stage concerts: On September 24, the exceptional Baby Dee hues in the audience with quiet tunes, on September 30, Italian outfit Strepitz and their guest of honour Paolo Tofani are at Haus der Musik to rock the stage.
More ear candy is in store for October 1, when during the Long Night of Museums Haus der Musik's inner courtyard turns into a giant music stage.

September also sees the return of our children's stars from their well-deserved summer break. While Bernhard Fibich invites the audience to play and sing along his "Gschamster Diener Teddybär" on September 16, Marko Simsa uncovers the secrets of water in his popular piece "Filipp Frosch" on September 23. This is guaranteed to set children's hearts racing!

For those unable to make it to the concerts, Haus der Musik offers other ways of spending entertaining hours. Take our Dinner and Sound package, which includes admission to the museum as well as an exclusive 3-course menu at our new restaurant Huth im Haus der Musik.

Last but not least our tip for you: In late summer Therme Wien offers refuge from busy city life by giving away tickets for a relaxing stay for two.

We hope you enjoy reading our newsletter and wish you a pleasant month.
