NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 2010

Exploring the Sound Museum on the new „Sound:Carpet"

Haus der Musik is restyling the Sound:Carpet, an installation first created by Hermann Nitsch in 2008. Austrian artist Gilbert Bretterbauer fashioned a new design for the monumental carpet, which decorates Haus der Musik's third floor.

It's Frédéric Chopin's 200th anniversary, and Haus der Musik is honouring the great Polish composer with an array of events. Following a special exhibition and our Chopin summer concert series, Haus der Musik is now presenting "ROUND ABOUT CHOPIN," an international Chopin-festival, featuring musicians from 15 different countries.

On September 3, Mai Cocopelli returns with "Rabi's Wish Concert" a children's concert, which lured in young and old during Haus der Musik's ten-year anniversary festival.

Brief guitar accords, minimal drums, a Wurlitzer e-piano and raw expressive vocals await visitors at this month's Live-on-stage concert by Botanica. Following Basia Bulat's performance in August, we present another highlight in cooperation with Vienna Songwriting Association.

Our tip for you: Haus der Musik MemberCard holders receive many additional discounts and benefits in September. Together with free admission to all our Live-on-stage concerts, and unlimited access to our exhibition, you also enjoy free entry to the "ROUND ABOUT CHOPIN" festival - for just € 33,- you are along for the ride.

Additionally we provide you with a preview of our line-up for the "Long Night of Museums," which takes place on October 2, 2010.

We hope you enjoy reading our newsletter and wish you a September filled with music!

Haus der Musik Team
