SONGWRITERS, CHILDREN'S FAVOURITES AND YOUNG SHOOTING STARS
Highlights of Haus der Musik's 10-year-anniversary celebration
10 years of sound museum - 10 days of music at its best: For its anniversary celebration Haus der Musik presents a colourful musical programme, including performances by children's favourites such as Marko Simsa, Bernhard Fibich and Mai Cocopelli, as well as by, 2009 Amadeus award winner, Clara Luzia, celebrated Swiss singer Sophie Hunger and lady of rock, Birgit Denk.
10 days of open house and free entry to all events: Haus der Musik will offer musical afternoons for children and the young-at-heart, live performances by popular shooting stars and more surprises, which we keep a secret for now. We are continuously working on the expansion of the festival programme.
"During the day we invite our young visitors to our special children's tours, covering everything from the museum of the Vienna Philharmonics to the historical rooms of Viennese music history. By discovering these almost archaic sound experiences, our young audiences experience the magic of music firsthand." Simon K- Posch, Director, Haus der Musik.
A Gift from Maestro Mehta
Maestro Zubin Mehta, honorary chairman of Haus der Musik and world renowned conductor, has already presented his anniversary gift: He personally prepared and recorded the intro for the "rejuvenated" Virtual Conductor, one of our most popular interactive attractions. So far hundreds of thousands of visitors have tried themselves as virtual conductors and have, in so doing, taxed the Philharmonics' patience.
Take a look at the impressive festival programme we have put together so far:
